Federal judge throws out U.S. approval of ConocoPhillips Alaska oil project

A federal judge on Wednesday reversed the U.S. government’s approval of ConocoPhillips’ (COP.N) planned $6 billion Willow oil development in Alaska, citing problems with its environmental analysis, according to court documents.

This development is yet another blow to the fossil fuel economy, and a signal that the enabling context for decarbonisation and clean energy development is strengthening.
