Rights of future generations included in Maastricht Principles

The rights of future generations were also recently included in the application of human rights with their integration into the Maastricht Principles.

So what?

While not legally binding, the inclusion of the rights of future generations is expected to support landmark cases, including ‘climate lawsuits’ against governments and businesses.
