Brussels will make its public transport and bike share system free on days with high levels of air pollution, in an attempt to improve air quality. After two consecutive days of high particulate matter levels, all buses, trams and metros will have to open their doors for free under the new rules. Speed limits for cars would also be reduced by about a third, and wood-burning stoves would be banned under the law.
