IBM are using the AI technology Watson Analytics to predict employee’s future performance in order to determine their promotion and pay.
The system considers past experiences and the company’s internal training system to infer what potential skills and qualities each person might have to serve IBM in the future. From this, an assessment rating is determined that managers take into account when making professional decisions. IBM claims Watson has a 96 percent accuracy rate, compared with IBM’s internal analysis with HR experts.
